Con motivo de la celebración del 50º aniversario de las relaciones diplomáticas entre Argentina y Barbados (1968-2018), esta Embajada ha organizado un completo programa de actividades de promoción cultural bajo el lema "Celebrating our Friendship, Sharing our Culture".
El programa consiste en una decena de eventos artísticos con entrada gratuita y abiertos a la comunidad barbadense, que tendrán lugar en los próximos meses en la ciudad de Bridgetown. El objetivo de la iniciativa es aumentar la presencia y visibilidad de la identidad argentina en la isla, así como también integrar expresiones y artistas nacionales en la escena local. Las disciplinas elegidas para conformar la agenda de conmemoraciones de la Embajada son: cine; música; danza; teatro; artes escénicas; gastronomía; pintura; y fotografía.
A los efectos de asegurar que, además de las habituales autoridades locales y cuerpo diplomático, participen de la conmemoración otros sectores sociales que no suelen ser invitados por las Embajadas, se han elegido sedes identificadas con diversas instituciones y colectivos populares. Entre ellas, se destacan el Centre for Creative Imagination de la University of the West Indies; el parque público Queen´s Park; el prestigioso teatro Frank Collymore Hall; y la feria popular Bridgetown Market, donde se desarrollarán los desfiles del tradicional carnaval de Barbados ("Crop Over").
